Contributions is working with ZebraHosts can provide you with a Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS) hosted on our shared server platform located within our hosting facility. A VDS can bridge the gap between standard web hosting and a full dedicated server, considerably reducing your setup and running costs.
Based on the cutting-edge Xentm Virtualisation software, our VDS system allows several self-contained instances of an operating system to run simultaneously on the same hardware. Each virtual server is typically hosted on high-specification HP/Intel Xeon hardware, has its own dedicated filesystem and memory and behaves just like a normal server.
All of our leased servers are connected to the ZebraConnect network, via either 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps switches, and powered by our battery and generator backed up UPS system. Remote power switch facilities are available for an extra charge. For more information on our network and assistance services please see the "Expertise" section.
ZebraHosts can provide this service with short term contracts, no setup cost, short setup times and easy expandability. We currently offer 3 levels of VDS packages:

We can supply your choice of the following freely available Linux distributions:
- CentOS (Based on RedHat Enterprise Linux) - Provided by default
- Ubuntu
- Debian Sarge
- Fedora Core
- Other distributions may be made available on request
Customers have full "root" control over their VDS via secure SSH connections and console access. Our console access also includes the capability to remotely reboot or re-install your operating system back to its initial state, if the need arises.
