concert

Tragedies happen every now and then, but as sad as it is, there is always people who are willing to help in any way they can and artists are not the exception; they use the global attention that is upon them to create awareness, to ask for aid and to raise money for good causes.

People like to follow their idol’s example and they also participate in these charities and spread the voice. These are some of the most important charity concerts ever:

1985

We Are the World

We all have heard this single once (or more) in our lives, but most people do not know the purpose of it. This single was released to raise money to alleviate poverty in Africa and the U.S. Up to this date, it has raised over 100 million dollars in more than 30 years.

Farm Aid

Live Aid

Names such as Beyoncé, George Clooney, Rihanna, Wyclef Jean, among others were part of the two-hour event in MTV. The telethon raised more than 61 million dollars.

2017

One Love Manchester

This concert took place after a bombing attack near an Arianna Grande’s concert in Manchester. After the attack she gathered huge artists like Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Coldplay and other to raise funds for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, the British Red Cross and Manchester City Council. It was streamed alive and raised over 3 million dollars.

These are proof that in bad times if people stay together can help a lot more than doing it alone. Use your resources, spread your voice, support the cause and always be grateful for what you have.
